How is the amount of child support determined in Florida?

Florida Statute 61 specifically spells out how child support is to be calculated. With that we combine the incomes of both parties. If one party is not working, we attribute to them minimum wage at 40 hours per week. There's certain allowable deductions which we subtract from the parent's income. With that, we make a determination as to how much is needed for each child or children. Then there's a divisional process in which each party's percentage or proportional share is attributed to the parent.
